A recent study came out from the Arizona Christian University that stats 41 million Christians, 32 of will attend church regularly, will not vote in this upcoming election. Those reason vary, but it is disheartening to know that Christians are the swing vote and yet, so many refuse to use their voice and vote to stand on the morals and values that God gave us.
In Matthew 5 we read:
You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead, they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in Heaven.
Our freedom and values are under attach, this election has life hanging in the balance. We must stand resolved protect life, defend families, and preserve freedom.
In 2020, the voter gap between Trump and Biden was 7 million votes. With 41 million Christians not voting, that is an average of 820,000 Christians not voting in each state. Again, we are the swing vote and yet because we hide in the corner, we make the decision to burn on our house down.
I am reminded of the short story of the man who was stranded on a deserted island and prayed for God to rescue him. Then, a boat comes floating by and a man shouts out, “Get on board, I’ll get you out of here!”, in response the stranded man shouts, “No! I prayed for God to rescue me; He’ll do it!”. The boat then leaves. A little later, a plane comes by, and a man shouts out, “Get on board, I’ll get you out of here!”, in response the stranded man shouts, “No! I prayed for God to rescue me; He’ll do it!”. The plane then leaves. The man then dies and appears before God and gets angry at Him. “Where were you! I prayed and you didn’t save me!” God replies, “I sent you a boat, I sent you a plane!”
God has blessed us with one of the most prosperous nations in the world, founded on His word, and a light for the world to look to. Yet, it has taken steps away from His word and chaos has run its course. Infants are being murdered, children are being mutilated and molested, families are being desensitized and torn apart. Throughout all of this, the church has remained silent.
These are not political issues. These are attacks on life, morals, and values. 41 million will remine silent. The bible tells us in 2 Timothy 2, “If we deny Him, He will deny us.” I believe this is a form of denial. We are saying Christ and His word is not important enough to make sure His commands are preserved in our nation.
In a recent conversation I had, we spoke on how Christians will reason not voting or being involved in politics because its dark and dirty. The reason why politics has become dark and dirty is because the church has decided it doesn’t need to be involved. We don’t vote; therefore, death and destruction will abound. We don’t run for office; therefore, corruption will arise.
The church has decided that the only place to profess their faith is within the walls of the church. Which directly oppose what Christ has commanded us to do, go into the highways and byways and invite them to the feast.
Don’t be one of the 41 million. Don’t sit on the sidelines and think your vote does not matter.
With every election we claim that THAT election is the most important, and with every new election is becomes truer.
This election has life literally hanging in the balance…. don’t be one of the 41 million.
